The purpose of this Act is to provide for the establishment of an independent South Sudan Red Cross Society to prevent and alleviate human suffering, provide humanitarian aid to civil and military victims in times of armed conflicts, violent and natural disasters, and in peace time, and to provide community services to the general population of South Sudan.
